Likewise, the Château de Fitou, located in the small village of the same name, offers panoramic views of the vineyards and the Mediterranean Sea.

Perpignan is located about thirty kilometres away. This Catalan city, rich in history, boasts an exceptional architectural heritage, including the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, St. John’s Cathedral and the Castillet.

For nature lovers, the ponds of Salses-Leucate and Canet-Saint-Nazaire, classified Natura 2000, are protected areas home to remarkable flora and fauna. These areas are ideal for walking and cycling, and are ideal for birdwatching.

We also recommend a visit to Collioure. It’s a picturesque little town about an hour’s drive from Le Barcarès. With its narrow streets, colorful houses and royal castle, Collioure is a veritable jewel on the Côte Vermeille.
