Leucate, a place dedicated to water sports<\/span><\/h1>

Cap Leucate lies between the Leucate semaphore and the Leucate lighthouse, and is one end of the Leucate cliff.<\/strong> The commune of Leucate is located on the Mediterranean<\/strong> coast. It is part of the Aude<\/strong> department and is also not far from Le Fun campsite. Leucate stretches along almost 18 km of coastline, with the beach and sea at the base of the famous Leucate cliff. The geography of the area is truly special. The Leucate cliffs are very high and form a vast space, ideal for a hike rich in natural discoveries. <\/p>

Hiking on the Leucate<\/span> cliffs<\/h2>

If you’re a fan of beautiful walks in the heart of nature, the Leucate cliffs<\/strong> will bring back many happy memories. You’ll be at a height of almost 52 metres, and have more than 4 km to cover on foot. There’s a path known as the “sentier du guetteur” (watchman’s path) that allows you to walk along the cliff while enjoying a view of the Mediterranean Sea. <\/p>

As you progress, you’ll discover the cliff’s hidden treasures, such as Anse du Paradis, Cap des Trois Fr\u00e8res and the famous semaphore, which is the highest point of the cliff<\/strong>, just above the sea<\/strong> and its beaches. One of the best things about crossing the cliff is admiring all Leucate’s beaches: Leucate-Plage, la Plagette, les Coussoules, la Franqui and plage du Mouret. <\/p>

You’ll also see buildings from the time of Louis XVI, the Fort de la Haute Franqui and a few ruins that will help you take a step back in time.<\/p>

You’ll be able to observe flora and fauna at your leisure, and also enjoy unique panoramic views.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
